[EN] Originally from Nantes, Amélie Scotta is a visual artist with degrees in Art (La Cambre, Brussels) and Design (HEAR, Strasbourg). Winner of various prizes and artistic residencies (Prix Cocof, Prix Carré sur Seine, Casa de Velázquez, Cité Internationale des Arts, Villa Empain…), she exhibits regularly in Belgium and abroad.
From the Jeddah Tower to the disused factories of Roubaix, from the Rio stadium to the Versailles du peuple, from medieval recluses to the scaffolding of Brussels, the artist intuitively questions architecture in all its forms. Approached primarily through drawing, but also through sculpture and photography, construction enables her to speak of the human being, who both inhabits and builds.
In her recent work, Amélie Scotta takes a more sensory approach to landscape and habitat, working with color and materials. She addresses the question of « withdrawal », a position in relation to the world that can bring protection, confinement or liberation.

[FR] Originaire de Nantes, Amélie Scotta est une artiste plasticienne diplômée en Art (La Cambre, Bruxelles) et en Design (HEAR, Strasbourg). Lauréate de divers prix et résidences artistiques (Prix Cocof, Prix Carré sur Seine, Casa de Velázquez, Cité Internationale des Arts, Villa Empain…), elle expose régulièrement en Belgique et à l’étranger.
De la Jeddah Tower aux usines désaffectées de Roubaix, en passant par le stade de Rio, le Versailles du peuple, les reclusoirs médiévaux ou les échafaudages bruxellois, c’est de manière intuitive que l’artiste interroge l’architecture sous toutes ses formes. Abordée principalement par le dessin, mais aussi la sculpture ou la photographie, la construction lui permet de parler de l’humain, celui qui, tout à la fois, habite et édifie.
Dans ses travaux récents, Amélie Scotta approche le paysage et l’habitat de manière plus sensorielle, en passant par un travail de la couleur et de la matière. Elle y aborde la question du « repli », une position face au monde qui peut apporter protection, enfermement ou libération.
